• FSTD Content from the Type Rating Course*:
  • Unlimited access to Computer-Based Training (CBT) modules, providing in-depth theoretical knowledge of the aircraft type
  • Seven FFS Sessions: These Full Flight Simulator sessions mirror the training required for type rating issuance, allowing candidates to gain comprehensive operational experience under the guidance of qualified instructors
• Teaching and Learning: 25 hours of focused training on instructional techniques and methodologies, tailored to the simulator environment.
• Technical Training: 10 hours dedicated to type-specific technical items, ensuring mastery of the applicable aircraft systems and operational knowledge.
• Simulator Training Sessions: 3 immersive training sessions on Full Flight Simulators, totaling 10 hours per pilot, emphasizing instructional delivery in realistic flight scenarios.
• Extended Simulator Training: In addition to 3 simulator sessions (totaling 10 hours), trainees will gain additional hours as observers during simulator sessions, enhancing their understanding of instructional delivery and technical
• Final AOC Assessment of Competence: The program concludes with a 3 hours Assessment of Competence (AOC) to evaluate and certify your readiness as an SFI.

SFI Certification Prerequisites

To apply for an SFI certificate under PART-FCL, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• License Requirements: Hold or have held a CPL, MPL, or ATPL in the appropriate aircraft category.
• Proficiency Check: Successfully complete the proficiency check for the issuance of the specific aircraft type rating in an FFS representing the applicable type, within the 12 months preceding the application.
• Experience Requirements:
  • For SFI(A) for multi-pilot aeroplanes or SFI(PL), applicants must have a minimum of 1,500 hours of flight time as a pilot on multi-pilot aeroplanes or powered-lift aircraft, as applicable.
  • Demonstrate operational familiarity by completing, as a pilot or observer, within the 12 months preceding the application:
    • At least 3 route sectors on the flight deck of the applicable aircraft type; or
    • At least 2 line-oriented flight training-based simulator sessions, conducted by qualified flight crew, including:
      • Two flights of at least 2 hours each between different aerodromes.
      • Associated pre-flight planning and debriefing activities.
